Birth Story: Baby L

Some of the most important images I’ve made in my life.

My sister gave birth to a healthy baby boy this month! In her 38th week of pregnancy she started to experience some pre-eclamptic symptoms prompting her Doctor to start labor induction. She spent time laboring in the tub at Maine Medical Center. She and her husband walked the halls, snacked, laughed, and slept in the spacious birthing suite for a few days as she progressed through labor.

After progressing nicely on her own, a nap sounded really good so she opted for an epidural.

At 3:48am Mr. L was born and after some swift work by the doctors was breathing on his own beautifully!

Because he was slow to start breathing on his own he was brought up to the NICU for some therapy and tests. Mom and Dad are absolutely in love with their little man and are home settling in to life as a family of 3!

Congratulations, and welcome to the world Mr. L!!
